Writing & Revenue Opportunities
YouK (pronounced UK), came online in 2007. Although we are based in the UK and our readership is predominantly from the UK, we also have something of a global reach. At YouK we want to provide a wealth of information, advice and tips from well informed writers. We pay our writers for each and every article they submit.

Our Approach
Some sites actively encourage those with a flair for writing to submit articles on a wide variety of topics. The results, we feel, are mixed. Our approach is different. We want writers to engage with a single topic and to become recognised as an authority on that topic. We want our readership to value YouK as a network of sites written by passionate, knowledgeable writers who are able to provide them with reliable help, support and advice.
Every writer is associated with their own site. Although writers posts directly to their site they need no technical knowledge. So long as a writer can cut and paste - that's pretty much the technical stuff dealt with!
Strength in Numbers
Why bother writing for this site?
The Topics
We want to continue developing YouK so that it reflects people's needs and interests - so the field is wide open. At the outset writers simply choose a topic (please check the topic is available) submit their articles via email, and we do all the rest. After 12 articles have been posted we set you up with your own free site, along with an appropriate subdomain. See revenue share for more information
Who Are We Looking For?
Lots of people think they can write but only a very few write well. We need writers who can pick up a topic that will be of value and interest to a diverse readership, so this means we need writers from all over the world. Can you write about your city, your country, your music or culture? Perhaps you know about computing, horses, fashion, cars? Maybe your skills are in education, commenting about society, politics, religion.
For your relationship with us to work, you need to be in it for the long term and be prepared to write reasonably regularly. We particularly welcome professional people, skilled workers and seniors who can share a lifetime of skills, wisdom and experience.
A Website! But I Only Want to Write
We've gone to great lengths to make running your own site as easy as possible. At its most basic level you simply paste your article into a simple interface and it will appear on your site automatically. For those who want a little more, the system allows you to upload a library of images or materials for podcasts or downloads. There are absolutely no technical requirements necessary, beyond the ability to sign in and to paste information.
Before any writer gets their own site they need to jump a couple of (small) hoops. First, we ask for applicants to email us an example of their writing. If we like what we see, we ask for a further 11, sent in a batch or one at a time. Once 12 articles have been received we push these across to your new site and from this point you start to make money. We do this for a couple of reasons. First, setting up a site is an investment on our part and we want to ensure a new site is a reasonable user experience from the outset - a site with 12 articles is about the minimum for this. Secondly, we know that many people start writing with great enthusiasm but, for a variety of reasons, are unwilling or unable to continue. If a writer gets to 12 articles there seems a reasonable chance they will continue.
Interested?
If you would like to apply to the YouK network please follow these instructions carefully. We receive many opportunistic applications along with cv's. We have no interest in such applications and we do not respond to them.
1. Read our terms & conditions as we assume you agree to these before you apply.
2. In your email, tell us the single topic you are interested in writing about. Please don't shower us with a variety of topics as we will not choose on your behalf.
3. Included with your email write, or attach, an example article for us to consider. This should relate to the topic you are interested in.
4. Send your email to admin@youk.uk.com.
