YouK is a network of sites hosted by writers who share a passion for their topic. The founder of Youk.uk.com is Chris Jones. Chris has extensive experience as a web writer and has previously run and edited sites with leading web providers.

I live and work in the UK, but for several years I wrote for one of the biggest international health sites on the web. The constant requirement to chop and change according to editorial pressures, mostly driven by the need to satisfy sponsors and increase revenue, was something I became more and more concerned about. Eventually I decided to put this aside and to set up Youk.uk.com. In this way I'm able to shape the site to the reader, rather than the sponsors, and hopefully provide a focused, helpful and stable resource.

As the site develops my team and I want to broaden its appeal. Right now we're looking for writers who wish to run their own site, on a topic of their choice. Writers make money from every article they post and from the page views they generate.
